For the vast majority of us, our property, be it residential or commercial, is an asset that needs protecting. The same is true for organisations in the public and private sectors with schools, colleges, tenanted housing, work places.

Cube Building Consultancy was established as a multi-disciplinary consultancy to provide all the services needed to maintain and enhance educational, commercial and residential properties, all under the regulation or the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

RICS logo 2020Since its founding in 2004, the values and ethos of the company has been to focus on what is best for our clients. It seems simple but everything from ensuring surveys are comprehensive and thorough to delivering detailed, meticulous reports where appropriate and valuable.

By maintaining a client focus the reputation attained has led to regular repeat business and regular recommendations from satisfied and delighted clients.

You’ll find a bespoke and well-tailored service appropriate for your specific needs. We can help you with everything from the pre-acquisition of a building to its disposal and every need in between.

If you are purchasing, altering, selling, renting or letting a property, in whatever sector – corporate, public, private, education or local authority, you’ll find we have the expertise, knowledge, experience and ability to help you achieve your objectives on time and on budget.

More and more often we’re providing a unique service in the profession, which is to meet with the buyer of a property once the survey has been completed. It provides the opportunity to ask questions, have unusual or unfamiliar elements explained and ultimately helps you to make a fully informed decision. The survey report is still delivered of course but the opportunity to discuss a prospective purchase with a chartered surveyor can be invaluable as well as providing great peace of mind.

It may be that you need to submit an application for building control or planning, in which case Cube’s design services can advise and guide you in this key area. The working relationships Cube enjoys with local authority planning departments has been achieved by working with them in a way that assists them rather than clashes. Everyone has a job to do and Cube are able to work harmoniously to secure permission for everything from extensions and loft conversions to basement refits and annexes.

As you would imagine, the relationships we have with a range of contractors means we can help you find exactly the right balance of investment, quality and ability.

If you have any questions relating to property under your management or ownership, we’re always happy too talk. Sometimes a brief call is all that’s needed to alleviate stress and help you make the right decision.

Jim Mallams. Cube Building ConsultancyA Little About Jim Mallams

I love to see that what I deliver really makes a difference. In discussion with people, enlightening them about the positive aspects of a building, giving them clarity, removing confusion or doubt – one way or the other.

Architecture and the way buildings are put together, be they old or new, is something I really do love. I enjoy educating people to understand the value or the issues of a building, and how to improve their position.

Working as a lecturer at Nottingham Trent University and with the Young Enterprise brings in my love of teaching and educating people with something they wouldn’t otherwise have known.

I’m a family man and a bit of a Francophile. I do like France, it’s food, culture and of course its wines. Something very few people know is that I play the tuba, and play in a local band. Music is my way of relaxing.
